Sister taxon: Globophycus minor
Type specimen: Harvard Univ. 58501; stage coordinates 51.7 x 104.5. Its type locality is North of Ross River Tourist Camp, which is in a Tonian peritidal chert in the Bitter Springs Formation of Australia.
Ecology: stationary "photoautotroph"
