Sister taxon: Fanimus ultimus

Type specimen: SDSM 54388, a mandible (fragment of right ramus, with incisor and lightly worn p4-m1). Its type locality is Sharps (SDSM V-5350), which is in a Geringian terrestrial horizon in the Sharps Formation of South Dakota.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Oligocene of United States (6: South Dakota collections)

Total: 6 collections each including a single occurrence
