Sister taxon: Gallolestes agujaensis
Type specimen: LACM 42633, a mandible. Its type locality is El Rosario, which is in a Campanian terrestrial horizon in the El Gallo Formation of Mexico.
Ecology: scansorial insectivore
Distribution: found only at El Rosario
