Belongs to Benedenius according to R. H. Traquair 1877
Sister taxon: Benedenius soreili
Type specimen: IRSNB P 01261, a skeleton (Complete specimen with poorly preserved head). Its type locality is Denée, which is in an Arundian/Holkerian marine limestone in the Marbre Noir Formation of Belgium.
