Type specimen: SDSM No. 62294, a maxilla (fragmentary left maxilla with P3-M1). Its type locality is Black Bear Quarry II, which is in a Hemingfordian coarse channel fill conglomerate in the Rosebud Formation of South Dakota.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore

Distribution:

• Harrisonian of United States (5: Nebraska)

• Oligocene of Canada (1: Saskatchewan), United States (2: Nebraska, South Dakota)
