Sister taxa: Formonia formosa, Formonia scheldana
Type specimen: Its type locality is Roter Cephalopodenkalk Beds. Sessacker near Oberscheld, which is in a Frasnian carbonate limestone in the Budesheim Formation of Germany.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder
Distribution: there are no occurrences of Formonia globigenata in the database
