Type specimen: MWSU 12146, a mandible (t lower jaw ramus with canine, alveolus of P1, and complete P3-M3). Its type locality is Coffee Ranch, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in Texas.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore-carnivore
Distribution: there are no occurrences of Huracan coffeyi in the database
