Type specimen: UCMP 11893, a partial skull (a complete horn-core). Its type locality is Thousand Creek Formation, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Thousand Creek Formation of Nevada.

Distribution: found only at Thousand Creek Formation
