Sister taxon: Ucayalimys crassidens
Type specimen: CPI-10014 (originally LACM 144299), a set of teeth (left M1 and M2). Its type locality is Santa Rosa (LACM Loc. 6289), which is in a Rupelian terrestrial mudstone/sandstone in the Yahuarango Formation of Peru.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution: found only at Santa Rosa (LACM Loc. 6289)
