LSID. urn:lsid:zoobank.org:act:80707E98-926B-4340-90C6-475CF6759E52
Derivation of name. From the Gr. akerm, aleison, a cup; plus jheqe, cythereis, a common ending for cytheroid Ostracoda. With reference to the fact that many of the reticular cells in this genus contain a cup-like structure, the rims of which abut against the muri and which covers the entire solae.
