Sister taxon: Cyphomyia rohweri
Type specimen: Poinar M-7-235, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Mexican amber (Poinar coll), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Mexico.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Mexican amber (Poinar coll)
