Sister taxa: Ammonites (Macrocephalites) ishmae, Macrocephalites jacquoti, Macrocephalites macrocephalus, Macrocephalites tuguriensis
Type specimen: IGL:IGM:1924, a partial shell. Its type locality is Outcrop 2.5km NE of El Llano, nr San Juan Mixtepec, which is in a Callovian marine horizon in Mexico.
Ecology: fast-moving nektonic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Outcrop 2.5km NE of El Llano, nr San Juan Mixtepec
