Sister taxa: Ginkgoites crassipes, Ginkgoites feistmantelii, Ginkgoites goiraensis, Ginkgoites obovata, Ginkgoites patagonicus, Ginkgoites semirotunda, Ginkgoites skottsbergii

Type specimen: MPEF-Pb 10908, a leaf. Its type locality is Perfil Lefipán West (PLW), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial sandstone/mudstone in the Lefipán Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: "photoautotroph"
