Sister taxon: Mystrocephala stummi

Type specimen: USNM 95198a. Its type locality is Salt Spring Hollow, about two miles north of the hollow south of Kritesville, which is in a Givetian carbonate limestone in the Little Cedar Formation of Illinois.

Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal deposit feeder

Distribution:

• Devonian of United States (2: Illinois, Iowa collections)

Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
