Sister taxa: Protoryctocephalus balangensis, Protoryctocephalus wuxunensis

Type specimen: MGUH 23494, a cephalon/head (cranidium). Its type locality is GGU 218610 & 218611. Snout of Henson Gletscher, which is in a Dyeran marine shale in the Henson Gletscher Formation of Greenland.

Ecology: nektobenthic carnivore

Distribution:

• Cambrian of Greenland (6 collections), United States (1: Nevada)

Total: 7 collections each including a single occurrence
