Belongs to Typhlomys according to Z. Qiu and X. Ni 2019
Sister taxa: Typhlomys chapensis, Typhlomys cinereus, Typhlomys daloushanensis, Typhlomys hipparionum, Typhlomys nanus
Type specimen: IVPP V 25886, a tooth (Right M1). Its type locality is Yuanmou Loc. 9905, which is in a Miocene terrestrial sandstone in China.
Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
Distribution:
• Miocene of China (2 collections)
Total: 2 collections each including a single occurrence
