Sister taxon: Parablastomeryx gregorii

Type specimen: MCZ 3626, a mandible (fragment of left mandible with p4 - m2, the medial side and most of the posterior lobe of m2 missing). Its type locality is Thomas Farm, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Alachua Formation of Florida.

Ecology: ground dwelling browser-grazer

Distribution: found only at Thomas Farm
