Sister taxa: Malongullia oepiki, Malongullia zhenxiongensis
Type specimen: NIGP175922, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is YZJZ-1, which is in a Katian deep subtidal ramp lime mudstone/mudstone in the Daduhe Formation of China.
Ecology: fast-moving low-level epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at YZJZ-1
