Sister taxon: Pararyctes pattersoni

Type specimen: UALVP 45094, a maxilla (incomplete right maxilla with P4, M2-3). Its type locality is Cochrane 2, which is in a Ti1 fluvial-lacustrine siltstone in the Paskapoo Formation of Canada.

Ecology: ground dwelling insectivore

Distribution: found only at Cochrane 2
