Sister taxon: Dayongaspis hunanensis

Type specimen: IVPP V26112.1a. Its type locality is Maoyanhe town, Dayongaspis colubra type locality, which is in a Telychian carbonate siltstone/shale in the Xiushan Formation of China.

Ecology: planktonic suspension feeder

Distribution: found only at Maoyanhe town, Dayongaspis colubra type locality
