Sister taxon: Symmetrosulcus virginicus
Type specimen: IRSNB P 10090, an otolith (sagitta). Its type locality is Weches Formation, Texas, which is in a Lutetian offshore horizon in the Weches Formation of Texas.
Ecology: nektonic carnivore
Distribution:
• Eocene of United States (3: Alabama, Mississippi, Texas collections)
Total: 3 collections each including a single occurrence
