Belongs to Parascombrops according to C. Lin and D. Nolf 2022
Sister taxa: Parascombrops epigonoides, Parascombrops giganteus, Parascombrops mutinensis, Parascombrops spinosus
Type specimen: IRSNB P 10157, an otolith (sagitta). Its type locality is Pin Oak Creek, which is in a Bartonian offshore horizon in the Cook Mountain Formation of Texas.
