Sister taxon: Aegypius monachus
Type specimen: MNCN 37148, a limb element (right ulna). Its type locality is Gabasa I, which is in a Pleistocene terrestrial horizon in Spain.
Ecology: volant carnivore
Distribution: found only at Gabasa I
