Type specimen: CICYTTP-PV-P-3-561, a partial skeleton (skull comprising the neurocranium, nasals, lachrymals, suspensorium, fragmentary anguloarticulars, opercular apparatus, hyoid bar, and various components of the). Its type locality is Salto Creek, which is in a Miocene marine mudstone in the Paraná Formation of Argentina.

Ecology: planktonic suspension feeder

Distribution: found only at Salto Creek
