Sister taxa: Plicapollis arcii, Plicapollis serta, Plicapollis spatiosa, Plicapollis usitatus

Type specimen: Plate 8, figs. 10, 11 (sample R1012J, slide 2, coordinates 39.4 x 100.6), a microspore. Its type locality is R1012J, which is in a Coniacian/Santonian channel sandstone in the Magothy Formation of New Jersey.
