Belongs to Phrynus according to J. A. Dunlop and C. Bartel 2025
Sister taxa: Phrynus poinari, Phrynus resinae
Type specimen: MfN MB.A.1747, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Dominican amber (MfN coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Dominican amber (MfN coll)
