Cephalopoda - Ceratitida - Otoceratidae

Originally ranked as a genus. I have been unable to find the first usage of Otoceras as a nominate subgenus within genus Otoceras. It may be the 1957 Treatise (Arkell, et al.) Spath (1930) was the first to create the subgenus O. (Metoceras) within the genus but did not explicitly diagnose the subgenus O. (Otoceras).
