Type specimen: MPEF-PV 10918, a partial skeleton (almost complete carapace (secondary ossicles and nuchal bone) with a putative skull fragment (jugal) and postcranial elements (cervical vertebrae 4, 7, and 8, t). Its type locality is Estancia La Redonda Chica, which is in a Burdigalian offshore sandstone in the Gaiman Formation of Argentina.
