Sister taxon: Amakusatapes lassula

Type specimen: KSG 3031, a valve (internal mold of right valve). Its type locality is Locality 07. Roadside exposure ~600 meters northwest of Masuno, Oniki-Machi, which is in a Maastrichtian marine sandstone in the Himenoura U-IV Formation of Japan.

Ecology: facultatively mobile infaunal suspension feeder

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Japan (4 collections)

Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
