Sister taxon: Huiyingosmylus bellus
Type specimen: GMNB-00008/9, an exoskeleton. Its type locality is Daohugou (GMNB collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.
Ecology:
Distribution: found only at Daohugou (GMNB collection)
