Belongs to Aulacomya according to J. D. Stilwell and W. J. Zinsmeister 1992
Sister taxa: Aulacomya atra, Aulacomya subfragilis
Type specimen: USNM 365489, a shell. Its type locality is IPS 1, Cape Wiman, Seymour Island, which is in a Lutetian paralic conglomerate in the La Meseta Formation of Antarctica.
Ecology: stationary epifaunal suspension feeder
Distribution:
• Eocene of Antarctica (6 collections)
Total: 6 collections each including a single occurrence
