Sister taxon: Patagoniaemys gasparinae

Type specimen: MPMIK 1839/P/33, a partial skeleton (associated specimen including the posterior-most part of the basicranium formed by the basioccipital and parts of both exoccipitals, anterior margin of the dors). Its type locality is Los Alamitos (CM1 - LACEV), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial mudstone in the Los Alamitos Formation of Argentina.

Distribution: found only at Los Alamitos (CM1 - LACEV)
