Sister taxon: Nanotyrannus lancensis
Type specimen: BMRP 2002.4.1, a partial skeleton (a well-preserved specimen including a nearly complete skull, incomplete axial column, pectoral girdle, left humerus, pelvic girdle, and nearly complete hindlimb). Its type locality is Burpee Museum loc. K-12, which is in a Maastrichtian fine channel fill sandstone/conglomerate in the Hell Creek Formation of Montana.
Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore
Distribution: found only at Burpee Museum loc. K-12
