Sister taxon: Spinosaurus aegyptiacus
Type specimen: MNBH JEN1, a partial skull (an associated right premaxilla, both maxillae, the base and the bottom half of the fused nasal crest with portions of both prefrontals, the alveolar edge of the). Its type locality is Sirig Taghat, which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial sandstone/siltstone in the Farak Formation of Niger.
