Sister taxa: Archiphilopotamus absurdus, Archiphilopotamus expectatus, Archiphilopotamus kubekovensis, Archiphilopotamus luxus, Archiphilopotamus mancus

Type specimen: PIN 2389/578, a forewing. Its type locality is Sai-Sagul, Shurab III (PIN collection 2389), which is in a Toarcian lacustrine - small siliciclastic in the Sagul Formation of Kyrgyzstan.

Distribution: found only at Sai-Sagul, Shurab III (PIN collection 2389)
