Sister taxon: Adelfia arenosa
Type specimen: USNM 441638, a shell. Its type locality is IPS 456, Rocket site, Seymour Island, which is in a Bartonian coastal sandstone in the La Meseta Formation of Antarctica.
Ecology: facultatively mobile infaunal suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at IPS 456, Rocket site, Seymour Island
