Sister taxa: Pakicetus calcis, Pakicetus chittas, Pakicetus inachus

Type specimen: H-GSP 1694, a mandible. Its type locality is H-GSP 62, which is in a Lutetian coarse channel fill conglomerate in the Kuldana Formation of Pakistan.
