Sister taxa: Nerium antidysentericum, Nerium divaricatum, Nerium oleander
Type specimen: U.C. Mus. Pal. Paleobot. Ser. cotypes nos. 2327, 2328, 2329. Its type locality is UCMP loc. P3325, Chalk Bluffs, which is in an Eocene floodplain claystone in California.
Ecology: "photoautotroph"
Distribution: found only at UCMP loc. P3325, Chalk Bluffs
