Type specimen: AMNH 32656, a partial skeleton (skull and partial skeleton, including periodic). Its type locality is Santa Rosa, which is in a Burdigalian marine siltstone in the Chilcatay Formation of Peru.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Santa Rosa
