Type specimen: SGOPV 2914, a skull (skull and mandibles with nearly complete dentition). Its type locality is Tinguiririca Locality Sets 1 & 2, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial volcaniclastic in the Abanico Formation of Chile.

Ecology: scansorial herbivore

Distribution:

• Oligocene of Argentina (6 collections), Chile (1)

• Tinguirirican of Argentina (1)

Total: 8 collections each including a single occurrence
