Type specimens:

  • Gobipteryx minuta: ZPal MgR-I/12, a skull (fragmentary and distorted skull and mandible). Its type locality is Khulsan (general) [PMPE], which is in a Campanian eolian sandstone/sandstone in the Baruungoyot Formation of Mongolia.
  • Nanantius valifanovi: PIN 4492-1, a skeleton (nearly complete skeleton with several incomplete elements). Its type locality is Khermin Tsav, northern slope [RMPE], which is in a Campanian eolian sandstone/conglomerate in the Baruungoyot Formation of Mongolia.
