Type specimens:

  • Iguanodon bernissartensis: IRSNB 1534, a skeleton. Its type locality is Sainte-Barbe coal mine, Bernissart, which is in a Barremian/Aptian lacustrine - small claystone/bituminous coal in the Sainte-Barbe Clays Formation of Belgium.
  • Iguanodon seelyi: Its type locality is Brook Chine, Isle of Wight, which is in a Hauterivian/Aptian terrestrial claystone/claystone in the United Kingdom.

Ecology: ground dwelling herbivore
