Belongs to Euspirocrommium according to L. Marincovich 1977
Sister taxa: Euspirocrommium conicum, Euspirocrommium degensis, Euspirocrommium nantoialense, Euspirocrommium proinum, Euspirocrommium vincenti
Type specimen: CAS 9430, a shell. Its type locality is CAS loc. 32388A, Carneros Creek, which is in an Eocene marine sandstone in the Domengine Formation of California.
Ecology: semi-infaunal carnivore
Distribution: there are no occurrences of Euspirocrommium hewitti in the database
