Type specimens:
- Notopithecus adapinus: MACN-A 10822, a maxilla. Its type locality is Barranca south of Lago Colhue-Huapi, Gran Barranca, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
- Adpithecus secans: Its type locality is Casamayoran of Patagonia, which is in a Casamayoran terrestrial horizon in Argentina.
- Adpithecus subtenuis: Its type locality is Barranca south of Lago Colhue-Huapi, Gran Barranca, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial claystone in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
- Antepithecus gradatus: Its type locality is Casamayoran of Patagonia, which is in a Casamayoran terrestrial horizon in Argentina.
- Epipithecus confluens: Its type locality is Pico Salamanca (Barrancan), which is in a Bartonian terrestrial horizon in Argentina.
- Infrapithecus diversus: Its type locality is Colhué Huapí Norte, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial horizon in Argentina.
