Type specimens:

  • Continuoolithus canadensis: RTMP 94.157.61, an egg. Its type locality is Little Diablo's Hill, Devil's Coulee, which is in a Campanian terrestrial mudstone in the Oldman Formation of Canada.
  • Spongioolithus hirschi: UCM 47620, an egg (eggshell fragments). Its type locality is One Egg Locality, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the North Horn Formation of Utah.

Ecology: ground dwelling carnivore

Distribution:

• Cretaceous of Canada (10: Alberta collections), United States (12: Montana, Utah)

Total: 22 collections each including a single occurrence
