Type specimen: Das im Naturhistorischen Museum Lubeck aufgestelite Exemplar, a partial skull. Its type locality is Grosse-Pampau, which is in a Serravallian offshore shelf claystone in the Glimmerton Formation of Germany.

Distribution: found only at Grosse-Pampau
