Type specimen: Das im Naturhistorischen Museum Lubeck aufgestelite Exemplar, a partial skull. Its type locality is Groß Pampau, which is in a Tortonian offshore shelf claystone in the Gram Formation of Germany.

Distribution: found only at Groß Pampau
