Type specimens:
- Paraspheroolithus irenensis: IVPP V-733; TMNH No. 40.095, an egg. Its type locality is Tungkou, Chiangchunting, Laiyang, which is in a Campanian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in the Jingangkou Formation of China.
- Spheroolithus tenuicorticus: PIN 4476-4, an egg. Its type locality is Shiljust-Ula [SMPE], which is in a Campanian/Campanian wet floodplain sandstone in the Baruungoyot Formation of Mongolia.
