Belongs to Hoplocetus according to O. Hampe 2006
Sister taxa: Hoplocetus borgerhoutensis, Hoplocetus crassidens, Hoplocetus curvidens, Hoplocetus obesus
Type specimen: MB.Ma. 50479.1-26, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Grosse-Pampau, which is in a Serravallian offshore shelf claystone in the Glimmerton Formation of Germany.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Grosse-Pampau
