Sister taxa: Hoplocetus borgerhoutensis, Hoplocetus crassidens, Hoplocetus curvidens, Hoplocetus obesus
Type specimen: MB.Ma. 50479.1-26, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Groß Pampau, which is in a Tortonian offshore shelf claystone in the Gram Formation of Germany.
Ecology: aquatic carnivore
Distribution: found only at Groß Pampau
