Sister taxa: Ophiocoma hessi, Ophiocoma nereida, Ophiocoma rasmusseni, Ophiocoma senonensis

Type specimen: Holotype FGWG 112/16, paratype RGM 428 035. Its type locality is Rügen Island, White Chalk, which is in a Maastrichtian offshore shelf chalk in the White Chalk Formation of Germany.

Ecology: epifaunal suspension feeder-detritivore

Distribution: found only at Rügen Island, White Chalk
