Sister taxon: Amphioplus venezuelanus
Type specimen: Holotype NSM-PA11745, National Science Museum, Tokyo. Its type locality is Asagai FM, Oligocene, Iwaki, Fukushima, Japan, which is in an Oligocene offshore sandstone/mudstone in the Asagai Formation of Japan.
Ecology: semi-infaunal detritivore-suspension feeder
Distribution: found only at Asagai FM, Oligocene, Iwaki, Fukushima, Japan
